WINNIPEG -- A Sagkeeng First Nation man has been fined $300 for a tragic November 2011 shooting accident that killed his nine-year-old son.
The father of seven pleaded guilty late last week to one count of unsafe storage of a firearm. He is not being named to protect the identities of his children.
Court heard the man's 14-year-old son had taken a rifle from a storage locker in his parents' bedroom when it discharged, shooting his young brother in a bedroom across the hall.
