TORONTO - A Toronto-area mother is accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter on New Year's Day.
Teresa Amelia Williams, 24, was arrested at her home Tuesday afternoon. Police said they had to use a Taser on her because she was hysterical.
She's charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
An autopsy is also scheduled for Wednesday to determine what killed Evadne Williams-Scott, whose body had "obvious signs of trauma," Acting Insp. Randy Cowan said.
He said Williams was in bare feet on the balcony of her apartment when police responded to a 911 call from neighbours about a disturbance.
