Firefighter admits to running grow-op on the side
By Tony Blais, QMI Agency

Edmonton Provincial Court

An Edmonton firefighter was put under house arrest Thursday after admitting he was responsible for a marijuana grow-op with half a million dollars worth of plants.

Najeeb Rafic Manah, 33, was given a two-year conditional sentence to be served in the community after pleading guilty in Provincial Court to one count of producing a controlled substance.

In exchange for the guilty plea, two counts of the more serious charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking were withdrawn as was one count of possession of a controlled substance.
