By Kevin Connor, QMI Agency

Rita Mueller, 50

TORONTO – A Bolton woman who operates a dog rescue company is wanted by Toronto Police in an animal abuse investigation.

Rita Mueller, 50, of Bolton who operates Scooby's Dog House and Rescue, is wanted for the death of a dog last August, police said Thursday.

Mueller took a dog to the Toronto Animal Services to be put down on Aug. 24, police allege.

While alone in a room with the dog she killed it by strangling it and then left the scene, police said.
