Father of hit and run victim wants driver to come forward
By Ian Robertson, QMI Agency
TORONTO –The Ajax father of a young twin son killed New Year's Day is willing to forgive the hit-and-run driver of a Hummer that police later found abandoned. But there was one condition, Jovito Favila said Thursday: The driver must surrender to police and take responsibility for his son Jacob's death. Clutching his wife's hand after arranging the seven-year-old's funeral, the bank software developer said, "I forgive him for this, but he has to come out." His wife, Bloomy, said "I don't have any feelings about this," since an arrest "won't change anything." But she said she hopes the driver has "the conscience to face this," and other drivers will heed the roads more carefully, to avoid leaving another family grieving. |
