St. Thomas, Ont., police are searching for two men after a female cab driver was assaulted and tied to playground equipment early Sunday.
Police said the assault occurred after Red Line Taxi was contacted by an unknown caller, who ordered a cab to Waterworks Park.
A female driver was met at the park about 3:15 a.m. by two men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas covering their faces. One was armed with a butcher knife.
The driver was taken from her cab, assaulted and tied to playground equipment, police said.
The robbery was interrupted by another taxi driver checking on her well being.
Police said the men ran to that cab, leaving the abducted driver time to free herself and escape. She ran from the park to nearby homes and asked for help.
