TORONTO - More than 1,000 people filled a North York chapel Monday for a funeral service lamenting and honouring a Toronto couple murdered in Florida.

Calling David “Donny” Pichosky, 71, and his wife Rochelle Wise, 66, “two beautiful people,” Rabbi Chaim Strauchler said their devotion to family, faith and community “made the world better.”

The retired snowbirds’ bodies were found Thursday by a townhouse neighbour in the gated community of Hallandale Beach, between Fort Lauderdale and Miami.

Investigators have not revealed the suspected cause of their deaths — described only as a double homicide — saying Monday they are waiting for a medical examiner’s report.
