Dad discovers double murder, suicide victims
By Danielle Bell, QMI Agency

Police offer some insight into tragedy

OTTAWA - A grieving grandmother can’t fathom what led to the double murder and suicide that ripped apart her “wonderful” Stittsville, Ont., family.

In the wake of the tragedy that claimed the lives of her daughter-in-law and two young grandchildren, Barb Corchis is left with more questions than answers.

“We couldn’t ask for a better family,” said Barb, Jonathan’s Corchis’ mother.

On Monday, Jonathan came home at dinner time and discovered the bodies of his wife Alison Constance Easton, 40, and his children Katheryn, 6, and Jon Alexander, 10, in the basement of their Ottawa-area home. All were stabbed to death.

Now residents of the upscale Stittsville neighbourhood are struggling to understand the tragedy that rocked their quiet family-friendly community.
