Teen charged after police investigate Facebook photo featuring gun
By Maryam Shah, QMI Agency

(AFP files)

TORONTO — A Burlington, Ont., teen is accused of posing with a high-powered rifle in a Facebook photo that featured a threatening caption.

The 17-year-old -- who can't be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act -- is charged with uttering a death threat and possessing an unauthorized firearm. Police said the threat was directed at another male. The two were known to each other, police said.

Officers were alerted about the photo Monday.

Investigators tracked down the location where the photo was taken and seized the rifle, as well as two shotguns and shotgun ammunition, police said.
