TORONTO — A woman told court she woke during her surgery with Dr. George Doodnaught's penis in her mouth and the anesthesiologist expressing surprise that she "liked sex so much."

The widow, who was 48 at the time, testified Thursday that she regained consciousness several times from the light sedation to find Doodnaught fondling her breasts, kissing her and forcing her to perform oral sex behind a three-foot screen that separated her upper body from the surgical team operating on her at North York General Hospital on Dec. 16, 2008.

Doodnaught, 64, has pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault of 21 patients between 2006 and 2010.

Crown attorney David Wright asked if she's certain her recollections are real.

Doodnaught's defence is expected to hinge largely on suggestions that the women were hallucinating due to the anesthetic drugs.

"It was definitely real," the woman said. "There was nothing that was dream-like about it."

She was asked to give a detailed description of Doodnaught's genitals, which she did, and recalled that he claimed she had reached for him as soon as she went under.

"He asked me if I was going to suck him off," she testified. "He said he would come over and give me a good f---."

She recalled asking if he did this all the time. "He said not always," she said.

Doodnaught warned her several times not to tell anyone about what had happened, she testified.
