Police have identified the woman whose dismembered remains were found in a garbage bin in Kitchener, Ont., on Saturday morning.

Waterloo Regional Police said Tuesday that the victim has been identified as Kelsey Louise Felker, 24, of Kitchener.

Police made the grisly discovery after citizens found what they suspected were human remains.

Police wouldn't say Sunday whether a weapon was found at the scene, confirming only that the body was wearing a black, short sleeved T-shirt with the words "Forget Princess I want to be a Vampire" on the front.

Police received information from the public about the black T-shirt Felker was wearing and said it was "an important factor" in determining her identity.

The investigation continues.
