Now that they know who the victim is — Kelsey Louise Felker, 24, whose torso was found Saturday — police in Kitchener, Ont., are hunting for the killer.

A couple found Felker’s dismembered remains in a dumpster outside of an apartment in the southern Ontario city.

Police wouldn’t say whether a weapon was found at the scene, confirming only that the torso was clothed in a black, short-sleeved T-shirt with the words “Forget Princess I want to be a Vampire” on the front.

“Our hope is that someone who knows her or knows of her, may have seen something,” police spokesman Olaf Heinzel said. “Maybe somebody has information on where she was, what she was doing?”

A Facebook page has been set up in Felker’s honour.

Friends referred to her ongoing battle with crack addiction in posts, and hoped her killer would be found and brought to justice soon.

“We need the community to come together and help find the person who did this, who took this special friend away from us so tragically and soon,” wrote a poster named Steph Brad, who said he knew Felker.

Reports suggest Felker was a mother to at least two children.

Heinzel said police are still waiting for the results of the autopsy.

“At this stage we don’t know the cause of death,” he said. “Investigators are trying to pull the pieces together and narrow things down.”
