HALIFAX — Convicted spy Jeffrey Delisle offered a brief and subdued apology Friday when given a chance to speak on the second day of his sentencing hearing.

Although the former naval intelligence officer didn't take the stand, Nova Scotia provincial court Judge Patrick Curran asked Delisle if he wanted to say anything.

"This will be your only chance to do so," Curran said.

Delisle stood up in the packed courtroom and spoke quietly.
