Two Calgary men accused of forcing teens into prostitution

Two Calgary men are facing human trafficking related charges after two women were allegedly held against their will. (QMI AGENCY FILES)

Human trafficking related charges have been laid against two Calgary men police allege tried to procure young women into prostitution.

 

Late last year, two women under the age of 18 met two men who attempted to obtain them as prostitutes, said police.

One of them was forced to provide sexual services to sex trade customers before being able to flee to safety, said police.

In December, one of the victims came forward to police.

On Friday, cops arrested two men.

Arjanit Nick (Sammy) Simnica, 29, and Avni (Antonio) Gashi, 22, both of Calgary are charged with two counts of procuring a person to become a prostitute living off the avails of a prostitute under the age of 18, trafficking in persons, receiving material benefit from trafficking in persons, two counts of forcible confinement, assault/common assault, and possession of locally stolen property over $5,000.
