WINNIPEG — Two Manitoba sheriff's officers who made headlines after they were involved in a locally produced porn video are accused of administering Ecstasy to help them commit sexual assaults.
Richard Robert Gordon, 45, and Jackie Erin Burgoyne, 34, were re-arrested Wednesday and released on a recognizance.
They were previously arrested in October 2012 on charges they sexually assaulted a woman in their home.
Gordon now faces four counts of sex assault, two counts of forcible confinement, and three counts of administering a substance to overcome resistance to sexual assault.
Burgoyne is charged with three counts of sexual assault, two counts of forcible confinement and three counts of administering a substance to overcome resistance to sexual assault.
They were initially accused of sexually assaulting a 30-year-old woman last April. In that case, Gordon is facing an additional charge of administering a noxious substance with intent to endanger life or cause bodily harm. Court documents identify the substance as Ecstasy.
A Manitoba Justice spokesman refused to comment on the officers' job status after their first arrest.
Gordon and Burgoyne were suspended from duty in December 2006 after an Internet video surfaced showing them in a hotel room romp with a local porn performer named Oshean.
The couple later returned to their jobs and filed a lawsuit against Oshean and her business partner husband Johannes de St. Clair de Guise, claiming they were drunk when they signed a waiver allowing the interlude to be recorded and didn't know it would be posted on the Internet.
The lawsuit remains before the court.
