TORONTO -- A 17-year-old boy has been charged in the shooting death of a 15-year-old at a troubled Jane-Finch housing complex.

Police say the victim was fatally shot around 10:30 p.m. Monday at a home on Turf Grassway.

The victim’s name is no longer allowed to be made public. According to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, if the victim of a crime is underage in a case where the accused is also underage then the victim cannot be named without the parents’ permission.

Three people were taken in for questioning in the death of the youth.

All three now face charges.

A man and another youth face charges that are not related to the boy’s death, police said Wednesday.

And the 17-year-old, who can’t be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is charged with manslaughter. He is expected to appear in court Wednesday.
