T.O. couple fights off thugs in armed robbery
By Joe Warmington, QMI Agency

Couple defends silk shop

TORONTO -- It could have easily ended up as Valentine’s Week massacre.

But a couple’s 30-year love for each other, and for their three children, would not allow anything to happen.

If you are looking for a good deal on silk, Premanathan and Jeyanthini Kanapanathan at Scarborough’s Rashi Silks House are always happy to bargain.

But don’t even think about ripping them off.

It’s a lesson two 17-year-old losers learned the hard way.

It is true that when the two thugs with their ball caps and balaclava’s attempted to hold up the silk shop with a gun, they had already showed themselves to be lame.

But they would soon prove to be even more lame than that.

Lets just say it’s not just their egos that got bruised.

In fact, these two now in custody and charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act got their butts kicked by the owners of the shop at 2649 Eglinton Ave. E. at Brimley Rd.
