TORONTO - Police are looking for a subway slasher after a man was stabbed in a random attack on board a TTC subway Wednesday night.
The train was travelling south on the Yonge-University-Spadina line when a man on the train began harassing passengers, police said.
One man stood up and was stabbed in the neck around 10:20 p.m., suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
"The attack was completely unprovoked," Toronto Police Const. Tony Vella said.
The passenger assistance alarm was activated and the train was stopped at Davisville subway station where the suspect fled the scene, he said.
"We are working closely with TTC officials, doing everything possible to find this man," Vella said. "We are asking for the public's assistance, if they have any information in the case they need to contact police.
The suspect is described black, 30 to 32 years old, and six feet to 6-foot-2 in height with a thin build.
