A Toronto couple murdered in their Florida winter home were asphyxiated in what police are calling a “senseless” crime.

Hallandale Beach Police released new information Wednesday morning about the murder of David “Donny” Pichosky, 71, and Rochelle Wise, 66. Police say they also know from evidence at the crime scene that more than one person is involved.

“There are multiple culprits involved in this homicide,” said Chief Dwayne Flournoy. “As we begin to release details, more and more, you will find how senseless this murder is.”

Police have yet to identify a motive for the crime. They say the couple were last heard from on the morning of Jan. 9 when they talked with family members. Their bodies were found in their home the next day.

Crime Stoppers offered a $51,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

“I’m confident we’re going to solve this case,” Flournoy said. “Rest assured, that Hallandale Beach Police Department is dedicating all of its resources into identifying the culprits.”
