|Richard Kachkar is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Toronto Police Sgt. Ryan Russell.
TORONTO -- Richard Kachkar never showed the signs of psychosis in the days and months after he killed Sgt. Ryan Russell with a stolen snowplow, two jailhouse psychiatrists testified Monday.
The psychiatrists were the final two witnesses called by the Crown before the prosecution wrapped up its case against Kachkar.
He is accused of first-degree murder in the Jan. 12, 2011, rampage on Toronto's streets that killed Russell, 35.
Psychiatrists Graham Glancy and Lakshmi Vorunganti conducted suicide watch assessments of Kachkar while he was in jail in the months after the tragedy.
Both testified Monday that they saw no signs of schizophrenia or a psychotic disorder.
