Inmate in helicopter jailbreak felt like 'Superman'

MONTREAL - One of the men who escaped a Quebec prison last Sunday dangling from a helicopter said he felt like Superman as he soared over the barbed-wire fence.

Benjamin Hudon-Barbeau said he could hardly describe his feelings during the spectacular escape from the Saint-Jérôme prison.

"I was like Superman," he told QMI Agency in an exclusive interview about his short-lived escape. "It was crazy."

Hudon-Barbeau, 36, said many people think he planned the caper. In fact, others planned it and he was just offered a place among them.

"An offer like that, you don't refuse. It was presented to me by someone who knew I was going through a hard time inside."
