CALGARY -- The woman who strangled her promiscuous teenage daughter to death in 2007 is too ill with cancer to face a second murder trial, a doctor testified Monday.

Oncologist Dr. Jill Gillespie Nation said Aset Magomadova, 43, is under palliative care and is unlikely to live much longer.

"Would she be able to withstand a six-week trial?" defense lawyer Alain Hepner asked.

"In my opinion she's not medically (able)" Nation said.
