OWEN SOUND, Ont. — Crystal Field had yet to meet her new neighbours in Owen Sound, Ont., until Friday morning, when she awoke to screaming and a woman storming out of the apartment next door, covered in blood.

“She said: ‘Call police. He has a knife,’” Field said, and then the woman went back inside.

Police arrived shortly afterwards and three people were taken to hospital by ambulance.

Field said before Friday morning she had never seen any of them before.

“I work nights so I could have missed them.

“Other than this it has been a nice, quiet, safe building,” said Field.

Police said a 49-year-old man will face attempted murder charges after a woman told them he stabbed her daughter in the apartment.

A 26-year-old woman is recovering in hospital after surgery to treat her wounds.
