A riot broke out following a concert in Blainville, Que., late Saturday, ending with a torched police cruiser on its roof and 18 people arrested.
The mayhem erupted about midnight at the end of a concert by the group Les Trois Accords and as many as people refused to leave the site in the city 40 kilometres northwest of Montreal.
Rioters hurled objects at police and eventually flipped a police cruser and set it on fire.
Police were unsure how many were directly in involved the unrest, which ended about 2 a.m. Sunday after police from surrounding forces were called in for backup.
"It's hard to say, because young people ran in all directions," city police spokesman Stéphane Giguère said.
Those arrested, including as many as 10 minors, were all released and charged with arson, mischief and participating in a riot.
