OTTAWA -- Residents of an Ottawa suburb aren't sure if there's a poisoned-hotdog-wielding neighbour after their canines but the possibility has them on edge.
Homeowners in the Chaperal area of Orléans said signs were posted on mailboxes a couple weeks ago warning dog owners to keep their animals on a short leash.
"I got a letter in my mailbox," said one neighbour, describing the tone of the letter as "a final notice." In one case, a family living nearby received a handwritten note, advising them their "son cannot control your dog."
If the animal wasn't reigned in, the note said "your dog's last meal will be a wiener."
