TORONTO - Toronto Police say that a dispute over a traffic accident may be at the root of a fatal stabbing.
Officers responded to a call on Francine Dr., in the Leslie St.-Steeles Ave. area, last Thursday and found Anthony Koko Chang, 62, stabbed several times in the front of his house. Chang died from the wounds.
Kimnarine Keshan Maharaj, 24, of Toronto, appeared in court on Tuesday charged with second-degree murder.
Police alleged that Chang — riding a red scooter — was involved in a collision with a white Ford pickup truck on Sept. 10 in the northbound lanes of Mount Pleasant Rd. near Roehampton Ave.
Chang suffered minor injuries and decided with the other driver to settle the accident without an insurance claim, according to police.
The men met last Thursday and a fight broke out, police allege, adding Chang was stabbed during the incident.
