TORONTO — A $50,000 reward is up for grabs in the hunt for a sexual predator who attacked two women, separated by thousands of kilometres, more than two decades ago.
Toronto Police say the cold case sex assaults occurred in Toronto in 1992 and in Vancouver in 1985, but it wasn’t until 2005 that the incidents were linked by DNA evidence.
“There could be other sexual assaults this person has perpetrated that have not been reported to police,” Toronto Sex Crimes Unit Det. Ali Ansari said at headquarters Friday.
He released a recently redrawn composite sketch of a suspect in the historic attacks hoping “the right person” will see it and come forward with new information that heats the cold cases back up.
“The reward is the icing on the cake and I’m hoping it will loosen some lips,” Ansari said.
The most recent sex assault happened June 10, 1992, in midtown Toronto.
