OTTAWA - A 73-year-old Ottawa man has been charged after a pedestrian was hit by a car on Wednesday in what police suspect is a case of road rage.
At about 11:30 a.m., a 24-year-old man was hit by a car at an intersection downtown.
He suffered serious abdominal and chest injuries, paramedics say.
The driver was arrested, released and told to appear in court at a later date.
Witness reports suggest the collision might have been road rage. The victim had reportedly pounded on the hood of the car before being hit.
Michael Chettleburg is charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.
The investigation continues.
