CALGARY - Police in Medicine Hat, Alta., believe a woman killed in a two-vehicle collision during a highway pursuit was possibly being abducted.

Insp. Tim McGough confirmed two people died after a car Mounties were chasing collided with a semi truck on Hwy. 884 near Suffield late Friday morning.

Mounties took over the pursuit from Medicine Hat police once the suspect car left city limits.

The case began with a 911 call from a home in Medicine Hat.

"We believe it was (that woman)," McGough said.

"We believe they were both from that residence, and we believe she was being held against her consent.

"We believe she was potentially being abducted."
