TORONTO- A man was seriously injured by gunfire at the TTC’s Queen subway station Friday night.

One man, believed to be in his 20s, suffered life-threatening gunshot wounds and was rushed to hospital just after 8 p.m.

It’s believed the victim was on the subway platform when he was shot in the stomach.

The province’s Special Investigations Unit has been called in to investigate.

The SIU is called anytime a person is killed or wounded when interacting with police

Toronto Police evacuated the subway station for security reasons and service between Union and Bloor stations on the Yonge-University-Spadina line was shut down for the rest of the night.
