EDMONTON -- An Edmonton man is not allowed to possess mirrors while outside of his home or to go into washrooms or change rooms that aren't designated men only.

Jason Scott Kirkland, a married father of three, was also sentenced to five months in jail, to be followed by 30 months of probation, after pleading guilty to mischief.

Kirkland was put behind bars Tuesday for taking mirrors into a female washroom in a west-end Walmart to spy on women.

Court of Queen's Bench Justice Vital Ouellette rejected a defence pitch for a sentence to be served in the community after saying Kirkland's five prior convictions, despite repeated attempts at treatment, show he poses a danger.
