CALGARY -- Revenge and jealousy may have fuelled a Calgary man's actions in distributing pornographic flyers of his ex-girlfriend, cops say.

Hundreds of flyers containing sexually graphic images were distributed in the community of Southview, leading police to charg a Calgary man with stalking.

The flyers made lewd claims about a 40-year-old woman and contained pornographic images, Staff Sgt. Geoff Gawlinski told reporters Thursday.

"I think his motive was revenge and jealousy that maybe the relationship did not continue on," he said.

The case was brought to police attention in June after the woman's father contacted them about the flyers, which were "distributed throughout his street and via general mail."

"The flyers had the victim's name, address and phone number listed, which caused additional harassment to her family," Gawlinski said.

"Due to the content of the flyers, the victim was solicited multiple times for sexual encounters."

The flyer described the victim's appearance, stated "that she is very sexually promiscuous" and included disturbing images including photographs of genitalia.

"It's very disturbing for people to find these, when they're waking up, going to work," he said. "Investigation showed that the suspect was driving throughout the neighbourhood and throwing the materials out of the vehicle."

Cops arrested Anthony Victor Hilton, 61, last Friday and charged him with two counts of criminal harassment/stalking and one count of uttering threats.
