TORONTO - Mayor Rob Ford called the Toronto Police for help on Friday.

Ford - who is the subject of an ongoing police investigation in the wake of his crack cocaine scandal - contacted police on Friday due to a threat.

Two uniformed police officers were spotted going in the back door of the mayor's office on Friday.

Ford's spokesman Amin Massoudi said the police were investigating a threat.

"It is regarding a message we received about a potential threat to the Mayor and his family," Massoudi told the Sun shortly after the officers arrived.

A Toronto Police spokesman wouldn't reveal what police were investigating but confirmed they were responding to a call for service.
