TORONTO -- It was a “bold, brazen and brutal” robbery that Mark Garfield Moore and his rapper accomplice pulled off, shooting a clerk and stealing almost $500,000 worth of valuables, a Superior Court heard Friday.

Crown attorneys Sean Hickey and Kim Motyl are asking Justice Ian MacDonnell to impose a 15-year sentence against Moore, who was convicted earlier this year for robbery, aggravated assault with a firearm and other offences.

Moore shot 55-year-old goldsmith Art Darakjian on Aug. 9, 2010, at Arax Jewellers in the Bayview and Eglinton Ave. area. The bullet pierced through Darakjian’s arm and lodged in his leg, court heard.
