GRAND PRAIRIE, ALTA. -- Three people are in custody and awaiting potential charges after a seven-month-old Grande Prairie baby girl was abducted in a stolen truck Tuesday.

A 2010 Dodge Ram pickup was stolen from a home between 12:30 and 1 p.m. local time, with a little girl named Addison in the back seat.

With a tip from the public and help from the RCMP helicopter, police found the stolen pickup at 4:15 p.m. at a forestry products mill south of the city.

Three suspects are currently in custody after leading the police on a foot chase behind the mill. Police have not yet laid any charges.

RCMP issued an Amber Alert just before 3 p.m.

Soon after, a homeowner called RCMP to report a child had been left in a car seat on his porch located south of Grande Prairie.

“The child appears uninjured, but the child was located in her car seat left on a porch at a rural residence. So with the weather conditions and everything, as a precaution, the EMS will be taking the child to the hospital just to update that the child is in fact unharmed,” said Cpl. Roy Kennedy, media relations, RCMP Grande Prairie detachment.
