EDMONTON - The daughter of a man killed when another man went on a stabbing rampage in a warehouse Friday afternoon called the alleged attacker a coward.

“Shame on you coward, that is not how you deal with your issues,” Patricia Harris, the daughter of 50-year-old Fitzroy Harris, said in a statement Saturday.

In an earlier interview with the Edmonton Sun, Patricia said her father, whose nickname was Spragga, loved music, and in particular reggae. He was born in Jamaica and came to Canada about 11 years ago. He was a DJ who loved to throw parties.

She said the family is waiting for answers after his death, and it has been hard on her mother.

“You want to fix your mom when you see how broken she is and you can’t do anything. You want to just hug her and take it away, but you can’t.”

Patricia said the autopsy will not be completed until next week.

“There’s still a lot of numbness, shock, disbelief,” Patricia said. “It seems like he’s just at the store, went for a sleepover, or he’s coming back.”

Patricia, who is studying criminal justice, says she there will be months of waiting and being dragged through the system.

She added it’s not just about her dad, but another man died and others were hospitalized.

“There will be a lot of healing involved for everyone,” she said.

Thierno Bah, a 41-year-old native of Guinea, died on the way to hospital. Bah studied nanotechnology at Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse, France.

His wife, Djenaba Haidara, confirmed her husband’s death on Facebook.

Four other men, aged 21, 29, 34 and 44, were injured in the attack. The 34-year-old man remains in hospital.

Jayme Pasieka, 29, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, attempted murder, and two counts of possession of an offensive weapon. Further charges are pending.
