OTTAWA -- The victim of an alleged gang sex assault involving members of the University of Ottawa varsity hockey is cooperating with investigators.

Ottawa police sources had previously indicated the woman didn't want to speak with detectives, but police in Thunder Bay say that is not the case.

Thunder Bay police executive officer Chris Adams said investigators have been carefully taking their time with her.

Adams also said the attack did not happen on Lakehead University campus and did not reveal the location of the incident, for fear it might identify the victim.

Investigators in Ottawa are preparing to speak to as many as a half-dozen suspects here. Adams said Ottawa investigators will take the lead on interviews.
