When cops asked two Texas teens who were acting suspiciously in a wooded area what they were up to, one of them replied, "Burying a body," police say.

The two 16-year-old boys, who cannot be named, have been charged with first-degree murder of their 17-year-old classmate Ivan Mejia, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Police didn't say how Mejia died, but said he was killed behind a high school all three boys attended in the Dallas suburb of Wylie.

Police received a call around 9:38 p.m. Saturday about a suspicious vehicle. When they arrived on scene in the suburb of Garland, about 10 km away from Wylie, the officers found two 16-year-olds in a wooded area.

After one of the teens answered the officer's question, they were detained and the cops went into the woods and found Mejia's body, police said.

The boys were charged on Sunday.
