Teen pleads guilty to dumping crash victim's ashes

CALGARY -- The teen who’s pleaded guilty to scattering a dead woman’s ashes wept while reading a victim impact statement Wednesday.

The 15-year-old girl has pleaded guilty to theft, mischief and property damage for stealing the ashes of Emma Ransom from a parked pickup truck on Wapta Rise and 10 St. S.E. In August, 2003.

Ransom, 19, was killed in a highway accident near Nanton in 2009.
