PETERBOROUGH, Ont. — A pocket-dialled 911 call during a vicious beating of a former gang member has been released by court.
QMI Agency asked that the recording, played in court Tuesday, be made public. Justice Alfred Stong granted the request Friday.
Pierre Aragon, a member of the Loners motorcycle gang, is on trial in a Peterborough courtroom for aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a dangerous weapon in the beating of former member Fernando Fernandes.
Two men could be heard on the accidental call that came from Aragon's phone.
One voice, yet to be identified in court, can be heard yelling: "Are you a Loner?" and "Do you wanna be a Loner?" while a man cries out in the background.
The same voice is also heard yelling: "Fernando, you had a chance to come with us.”
The sound of incoherent screaming, cursing and a moaning, as well as metal hitting the pavement can also be heard on the tape.
