OTTAWA — A Canadian soldier is now accused of 16 sex assaults after 10 more victims came forward, police say.
Derrick Gallagher, 31, was charged with eight counts of sex assault and two counts of voyeurism on April 1.
Provincial police announced Thursday that Gallagher has been hit with another 18 charges — eight counts of sexual assault, nine counts of voyeurism, and one count of assault.
He is scheduled to appear in Pembroke court via video on Thursday.
Gallagher is an infantryman with the 1st Battalion Royal Canadian Regiment based at Garrison Petawawa west of Ottawa. He joined the military in 2005 and has served in Afghanistan.
In a rare move, the police earlier released a photo of Gallagher, including his tattoos, as they sought other women who may have been victimized.
