CALGARY — Taking part in a kidnapping plot that was supposed to end in the murder of a central Alberta man has landed a Calgary woman a 17-month jail term.

Judge Catherine Skene also ordered Tammy Charlene Earl to serve three years of probation for her involvement in the scheme.

Earl, 40, admitted to working with Vincenzo Sirianni and Jason Lawrence to carry out a plot to kidnap the new boyfriend of Sirianni's ex-wife.

But according to a statement of facts admitted in court, the plan was foiled when a Calgary Remand Centre cellmate of Sirianni's went to police.

Sirianni was housed at the jail in May 2013 after attempting to kidnap his ex-wife, Rita, when he hatched his murderous plan.

At that time he was able to reacquaint himself with Lawrence, an old school friend.
