TORONTO -- A woman who alleges a doctor drugged and sexually assaulted her told court Wednesday that she could not see her attacker, but felt it despite the affects of an unknown substance.

Under cross-examination, the 31-year-old woman, who cannot be identified because of a publication ban, said she was blinded by something during the alleged 2003 assault. She could not say if Dr. Amitabh Chauhan, whom she had briefly dated, was the man who attacked her.

"You said you didn't know if he was successful," Chauhan's defence lawyer, Marlys Edwardh, said, recounting part of a police interview where the woman couldn't say if she was raped.
