EDMONTON -- A man shot dead by police in Riverbend Sunday night was wanted for an April homicide.

David Charles Sandaker, a suspect in the fatal April 26 shooting of 38-year-old Michael Alan Hill at a west-end apartment last month, died in the police shoot-out around 8:30 p.m.

At a midnight press conference later Sunday, Police Chief Rod Knecht said members of the tactical team were involved in the surveillance of a “person of interest” in an ongoing criminal investigation.
