Brantford men facing charges after stomping kittens to death

Two Brantford men are facing several charges after two kittens were stomped to death at a home Saturday.

Justin Cole Webber, 27, is charged with two counts of killing or injuring an animal, break and enter with intent, assault and breach of a probation order.

And James Carpenter, 29, is charged with causing a disturbance by being drunk, obstructing a peace officer, assault with intent to resist arrest, assaulting a peace officer, break and enter with intent and assault and mischief under $5,000.

Police said they are looking for a third suspect.

Webber and Carpenter have both been remanded into custody and are expected to appear for a bail hearing Tuesday.

Police said that they were confronted by an intoxicated man when they were called to the home at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday. The man punched the police cruiser before he was arrested. He also kicked out the cruiser’s rear window and damaged the cell area of the police station.

Police said the three forced their way into the home, assaulted the residents and stomped on the kittens.
