OTTAWA — A former hospital security guard was sentenced Wednesday to four years behind bars for exploiting two women with the minds of children for his own sexual gratification.

In both cases, Clinton Russell, 44, approached the women, who were patients in the psychiatric unit at the Civic hospital, in a “friendly fashion” then asked them for oral sex, Judge Monique Metivier said.

Once satisfied, he gave them a token — $5 for one woman and a handful of cigarettes and a toonie for the other.

One victim was 28, but has the mental age of a child of five to eight due to a genetic syndrome. The other was 18, but has developmental delays leaving her with a mental age of seven or eight and bipolar disorder.
