Woman accused of stealing $600,000 from trust fund for cops

The RCMP has charged a woman who allegedly stole more than $600,000 from a trust fund for current and retired Halifax Regional Police officers.

Mary Louise MacDonald, 47, was the administrator of the Halifax Regional Police Dedication to Duty Fund when she allegedly siphoned $600,000 from it over 3 1/2 years.

MacDonald, who is already facing a lawsuit from the police officers she allegedly ripped off, has been charged with two counts of fraud over $5,000, one count of forgery and one count of uttering a forged document.

She's due in court June 25.
