A serial bank robber known as the Mummy Bandit has become more violent and is “acting like a crazed animal,” Toronto Police say.

The thug is now wanted for 10 robberies in the Trinity Bellwoods area since October 2013.

In the latest heist Monday afternoon at King St. W. and Strachan Ave., the Mummy Bandit — who police say is usually armed with a handgun — also had a box cutter knife and held it against a bank employee’s throat while demanding cash.

“He is acting like a crazed animal — out of control, putting a knife to the employee. There is no need for this,” Det. Mike Earl said Tuesday.
