About $28,000 worth of costumes were stolen from a Cirque du Soleil production in Vancouver, police say.

Three men broke into a Cirque tent around 3:30 Saturday morning and made off with a jeweled necklace, an ornate gold-trimmed headpiece and an ape mask, police said. The pieces were all created especially for the show Totem.

“We are appealing to the public to help us get the stolen costumes back, because the show must go on,” police spokesman Sgt. Randy Fincham said.
