RCMP in Moncton have officially release the names of the deceased and injured officers.

Commanding Officer George Brown confirmed the identities of the three officers that were killed and the two that were injured Wednesday night.

Constables David Ross, 32, Fabrice Gevaudan, 45, and Doug Larche, 40, were all killed in the shooting Wednesday evening. Constables Darlene Gouguen and Eric Dubois were injured.

"Fortunately, most people will never to experience what our officers have gone through in the past couple of days. Their resilience is truly remarkable," Brown said. "This is not something anyone wants to live through."

Lucinda Ross said her cousin, David, formerly of Victoriaville, Que., "was passionate about his work."

He was a police dog handler who has a young son and whose wife, Rachel, is expecting their second child.

"All my thoughts are with his wife, his son and his family," Lucina said on Facebook. "Rest in peace, Dave."
